Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Acropolis House in the enchanting neighborhood of Plaka, just minutes from the iconic Acropolis. The historic charm of this lovely restored residence, with its original murals and warm hospitality, made my visit truly memorable; the staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing for an early check-in and preparing delightful breakfast boxes for our early departures. On top of that, the breakfast was a vibrant array of local delicacies that added a touch of Greek culture to our mornings! While the shared bathroom situation was a bit inconvenient, the clean and cozy room-with a mini-fridge for storing some cherished wine I purchased-more than compensated for it. If you're traveling with loved ones, like I did with my husband and daughter, you'll appreciate the calm ambiance of the street, allowing you to explore nearby shops and cafes without the hustle and bustle typically found in tourist hotspots. Acropolis House is a gem for those seeking a genuine, cultural experience in the heart of historic Athens.
